The Rainbow Connection
What's Happening?
-
We are learning about visible light and mixing colors which comes from the electromagnetic Spectrum which is a range of all types of electromagnetic radiation. Each kind of ray has a different wavelengths
-
Gamma, X-Ray, UV, Visible, Infrared, Microwave, Radio
-
The color you see is actually the only color/wavelength that is not being absorbed by whatever you are looking at.
-
-
Light can often have a by product of heat as a form of energy.
Why do we care?
-
Energy is given off in many forms of waves in many different ways such as sound, light and energy.
-
Waves have different aspects that make them have different functions
-
Amplitude - height of the wave
-
Frequency - how many waves pass in a certain time
-
Wavelength - time for a complete wave to pass
-
Light is absorbed by objects all around us, and they are converted to hear or reflect the color not absorbed.
-
Energy is all around us!
