Student Leadership Team 2021-2022

Lindsey.jpg

I'm Lindsey, and I am majoring in Kinesiology and minoring in Spanish. I love this club because seeing a child grow from having frustration with a subject to having an eagerness to learn more, is one of the most rewarding things you could ever experience.

I am a third-year studying Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Chemistry here at the U, and I am currently considering a future path in research and/or medicine. After a number of years working and volunteering in after-school tutoring, I've found that I really love teaching and the sciences. When I heard about SITP, I found that it really incorporated things I value and it made me really want to be a part of the organization. I'm really excited for this upcoming year, and I hope we can inspire young students who are interested in STEM as well as those who don't view it as their strength to continue to explore and learn.

Hi, my name is Alice. I'm entering my fourth and final year of undergrad. I'm majoring in biochemistry and international studies with the hope of landing a career at the intersection of medicine, science, and education. In my free time I enjoy doing anything outdoors, mainly hiking, camping, skiing, and recently rock climbing. I also love volunteering, especially with SITP! Doing science outreach further instills my interest in science and helps me feel a part of the larger Salt Lake community. I am also frequently inspired by the perseverance of the young scientists we meet.

I’m a third year biomedical engineering major at the U. I am originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin but fell in love with the mountains so moved to Utah for college. When I’m not studying I enjoy doing anything outdoors from hiking to skiing to hammocking. I'm also involved in other clubs and activities on campus. I can’t wait for the year to begin and I know this club will do amazing things for the community and all of the future scientists out there.

I'm a double-major in Fine Art with an emphasis in Painting/Drawing and Biomedical Engineering, entering my third year in both. My passion for pursuing the binding power of art and science has led me to many programs focused on bringing communities together. I am excited to bridge the fields of art and stem to create more inclusive and accessible opportunities for those around me. I know that my energy is well spent when it combines to bring people together. I'm excited to see where Science in the Parks lets me share the love of science with the children that will create our surreal future.

Hi my name is Hannah and I’m a 2nd year biology student with a minor in chemistry. In my free time I like to read, play soccer and Quidditch, binge TV shows, and volunteer. I’m super excited to be joining SITP because I love helping others learn and I thought this club would be a cool way to inspire kids to learn and enjoy science. And doing fun science experiments is a plus! Looking forward to a great year!

I am a 4th year biomedical engineering student and I am hoping to pursue a degree in medicine and medical research after I graduate. When I first heard about Science in the Parks I thought it was such a cool idea! I really wanted to get involved with SITP because I am super passionate about science and want to share all the cool things about it with other people. I think this organization has so much potential to positively impact our community and I'm really excited to see how far we can go!
