When we add the salt it will help when the DNA is extracted to help them clump together so they are visible to us because it acts as a barrier between the proteins in the cell and the DNA.

When we add the soap which can break down of cell membrane to allow us to break open the cell to find the DNA

DNA, deoxyribonucleic acid, is found then being seperated.

• The structure of DNA is a double helix and we are going to break it down!!

• DNA is made up of so many things and helps build important structures called genes.  Genes come from our parents!

We are all performing a chemistry experiment!

• When we all add the rubbing alcohol into the cup it will react to then allow for the DNA to precipitate out. Precipitate means to have a solid product out of solution.
